Due to the unique make up of glass at these sizes, the glass is extremely heavy and should only be manipulated by those who are specially trained for such sets.

The CRL Glass Awning Support System will give any entrance an uncomplicated, graceful look. With the use of tempered laminated glass you can add a range of glass colors, textures, and special effects not available with typical monolithic glass. This complements and enhances the design of any building. All fittings are stainless in construction.  Glass make up is typically 1/2” tempered laminated.

What is over head glass and glazing?  Just what the name suggests.  It is glass that is installed in an area that is “over head”, such as skylite systems, glass canopies, glass awnings and glass ceiling structures.  What makes these glass sets unique is that they are required to have the glass manufactured with very specific make-ups to ensure safety and ability to withstand environmental elements, such as snow loads, heavy winds and the like.  In addition, the method in which the glass is installed is also equally critical.  Failure to do either of the above can result in serious injury and possibly death.  For this reason, our staff who installs overhead glazing has received additional training for these types of installations.

 Contractor/Homeowner Tip: Over head glazing requires extensive training and additional education for the technician.  This is not an application that should be attempted by an inexperienced glazing construction firm.  Details such as rigging and code requirements need to be considered.  A faulty installation or improper handling puts others at risk for injury.  Be weary of pricing that comes in seemingly discounted.  The field technician performing this type of glass install will have had many years field experience combined with additional training.  These services are not discounted.

Glass Ceilings and Roofing
